🎣 Fishing Reports & Conditions
- Pink salmon — Continuing to build in the Russian, Salonie & Buskin Rivers, the strongest local streams right now. This is a big even-year run (12.3 million fish forecast Island-wide).
- Sockeye — Mixed at Pasagshak and Saltery, just past peak. Saltery is running exceptionally low water and combined with a smaller run could see Emergency Order restrictions this week — worth checking before you head out.
- King salmon — Still slow. A few trickling into Salonie Creek and the Russian River; saltwater bite at the Fingers and Woody/Long Island unpredictable. Bag limit remains 1/day Island-wide through September 15.
- Closures — Karluk & Ayakulik Rivers remain CLOSED to king salmon fishing. Ayakulik sockeye bag limit was raised to 10/day via Emergency Order (in effect through December 31).
- Rockfish & lingcod — Reduced limits remain in effect north of Outlet Cape/Cape Ikolik: rockfish 2/day, lingcod 1/day (35″+).

🐻 Bear Viewing
- Frazer Lake fish ladder — Prime season continues through August 28. This year’s big even-year pink run means strong bear activity as fish pool below the ladder.
